• September 19, 2008, howard writes: I agree. Interestingly, I found these banners hanging in the county courthouse park that sits right across the street from the local Obama HQ. That juxtaposition, like the banners themselves, is a bit of a Rorschach test.

This was a welcome display (in more that one sense) that I passed on the way home yesterday. It was in the front yard of a house in my neighborhood. I stopped to ask the man I saw in the driveway if I could take a couple photos of the sign. He said it was fine, telling me that if Spc. Kelly himself were home at the moment, he’d probably be up for posing for a shot or two himself. Since he wasn’t there, I had to settle for just the display.

While I’m not a big fan of our involvement in the Iraq conflict, I am always glad to hear of a veteran returning safe and sound. So many of them don’t. I’m just glad Spc. Michael Kelly did.
