virtual street poetry

virtual street poetry

now available:
longhand poems and haiku
scribbled just for you

I saw it in a movie a few years ago, a poet on the street soliciting a few bucks for an original, custom-made poem. It struck me as a great starving artist type of venture. And while I’m not quite starving, I thought it was a neat idea to try.

Of course, I’m not going to accost you on the actual street, begging you for a few bucks in exchange for a few lines — but I’m not averse to doing it on the internet. Basically, for a modest price I’ll send you an original haiku or poem in a Crane & Co. note card (like the one pictured above).*

So if you’re interested in a little custom-scrawled haiku or brief poetry, click here to find out more.

*Shipping and pricing to non-U.S. destinations may depend on logistical considerations.

  • I just got my orange goldfish card in the mail, haiku included! That was a quick turn around!
  • i'm glad you like it!

maybe i shouldn't tell you this, but you were only the second person to order one, so there wasn't much of a line in front of you.

    Lovely idea!

For any occasion? Like birthdays or anniversaries? I'm contemplating one right now :)
  • thanks, PJ.
incidentally, I've already written haiku for both sorts of occasions, long
before this idea cropped up in my mind -- but I'd be happy to do some more
    :)
