the other side of rejection

other-side-of-rejection

some are accepting,
while others, when faced with joy,
just can’t help flinching

  • isn't that the truth.
  • PJ - thanks. sometimes I'm one of the others too -- part of the reason for writing this.

Anthony - I feel similarly conditioned, but I've been trying for a long while to go against that grain.

I'm one of the others a little more than sometimes. Anthony's "other shoe" comment describes me well.
  • I'm one who always waits for "the other shoe" when something good happens. It's conditioning, and a lifetime of experience.

Of course, nothing good lasts, as does nothing bad, but I think we tend to dwell on the negative rather than embrace the positives. Human nature is a bitch.
  • PJ
    Nice one.

I'm one of the "others" unfortunately.
