		<description>Given the tag context of the haiku, my only response is that it hasn't been the domain of modern politicians to steer debate, but to "give 'em what they want." 

What a world it would be if the people who aspired to lead actually made their case by (gasp) actually leading. If anything bodes poorly for Obama, it's not the pastor, or the badly conceived talking points of his opponents, but the fact that he appeals to the better nature of voters - something the majority of them don't seem to have most of the time.

Maybe this time . . . ?</description>
