risky ambition:
trying to help people find
what they’re not seeking.

Given the tag context of the haiku, my only response is that it hasn't been the domain of modern politicians to steer debate, but to "give 'em what they want."

What a world it would be if the people who aspired to lead actually made their case by (gasp) actually leading. If anything bodes poorly for Obama, it's not the pastor, or the badly conceived talking points of his opponents, but the fact that he appeals to the better nature of voters - something the majority of them don't seem to have most of the time.

    Maybe this time . . . ?
  • Life would be boring and I wouldn't have the value sized bottle of Advil in my purse at all times! :)

Thanks, again, for making me think!

  • absolutely.

but then what would life be without periodic bouts pitting your head against a brick wall?
  • It does make sense...and I know it's worth it or I wouldn't do it - it is just maddening sometimes!

  • While you can't force people to work in their own best interest, I believe it's always worthwhile to try to help them understand those interests. If that makes any sense.
  • Howard-
It's not just risky - it's thankless and frustrating and I often wonder - is it worth it?
