disillusion

disillusion

I liked the concept of this one when I first wrote it, but the more I thought about it, the less enthralled I was with reliability as an ideal. I guess it’s really just a matter of perspective, which is why I finally went with it.

lose your illusions
and give yourself to something
more reliable

It's the realism that's appealing. Even though it encourages us to abandon our dreams and embrace what is real, sometimes we need to see that what we aspire to is not a practical goal.
Like every girl I've had a crush on. :-|
  • and that's why i was ambivalent about this one. on one hand, we all should embrace reality if we want to be functional, but for some of us it's easy to confuse pessimism for reality.

or maybe that's something i do, but i can't be the only one, right?
