happy returns

This card arrived in the mail yesterday. Someone has actually sent one of my cards to me. Kind of cool. (Thanks to the kind sender.)
hoping I’m on to something

Things have been running a bit rough lately.
It’s funny, but even when it feels like I can’t catch a break, part of me holds on to the idea that things will eventually go right again. The more challenging and/or annoying things get, the more stubbornly I cling to that notion.
Here’s hoping my obstinance pays off.

think of it as a haiku-a-thon

I’m individually hand-scrawling copies of the haiku “Heroes 2″ on postcards to benefit Team Kristi — a fund-raising effort to help the family of Kristi Hertzog, who has suffered numerous medical complications from a viral infection following the delivery of her twins last month.
Pay five, ten, twenty-five or fifty dollars, depending on how much you want to send. Every penny paid for every card goes to Team Kristi.
Heroism is sharing, and we all have at least a little to share, don’t we?
I’m ready to wear my hand out for as little as five bucks copying this haiku on 4×6 watercolor-grade postcards. I’ll even foot the bill for standard domestic postage. I’m hoping you’ll be willing to help out, too.
More information can be found on the Team Kristi Facebook page, or in this recent news story.
However you choose to do it, thank you for sharing! (And please click the links or the logo below to find out more about how you can help)

This is a handwritten update to one of the haiku I wrote back in 2007. It’s already in the old book, but a suggestion by one of my list-makers has it in the running to appear in the new book as well.
If you have an attachment to any particular haiku I’ve written (whether or not it’s in the current handwritten collection), please feel free to suggest it in your list.
Even if you’re among those who’ve already submitted lists, you can still make more suggestions, of course.
