another installment of Scenes+Words

This morning my latest Scenes+Words collaboration went live. It’s a gorgeous shot of the Comcast building in center city Philadelphia, accompanied by some fog. The shot was taken by my shutterbug posting partner, Dawn, and it made the haiku-writing that much easier for me to have such evocative photographic accompaniment.

If you haven’t been to Scenes+Words yet (or lately), please take a moment to check it out, maybe leave a comment or rate a few of the posts — there’s a fresh one every Monday.

help edit my next book

It’s been about three years since Cool Menthol Woman hit the scene, and I’m finally working on another book. This one will feature images of handwritten verse (like I’ve been collecting on Flickr for the past couple years).

Because there are almost 200 images in the collection and the book will only include 75 at the most, I’m asking people to submit a list of their ten favorites via email (to info[at]analogimpulse.net). Just a list of your ten favorite images from the handwritten haiku set will do — image titles are fine, but urls are better.

While I’m sure it’s thrilling enough for folks to be able to help select the images included in the book, I am offering parallel incentives as well.

First, everyone who sends in a list of at least ten favorites from the Flickr set will be given a chance to buy the book at a pre-order discount.

Second, of those who send in their top ten choices, at least the first ten people whose lists include at least one unique suggestion (an image not already suggested by someone else, and ultimately chosen for publishing) can get a free signed copy of the book and an acknowledgment inside the book.
