idle napkin graffiti
This struck me as a perfect Friday haiku, courtesy of a leftover Starbucks napkin in the car. May your weekend be sufficiently idle.

secondhand haiku: BeckyBoo’s Blues

It is still cat week, as Ellen makes her second appearance in the secondhand series with her own haiku tribute to the great American housecat (or, as I like to think of them, the most effective paperweights in the animal kingdom). This one serves as a nice complement to Tracy’s haiku on Tuesday.
There are, of course, many more secondhand contributions, which you can peruse by clicking here. And I welcome your addition to this series, so if you’re interested, please feel free.

secondhand haiku: couch katie

Today’s secondhand post comes from Tracy, who was kind enough to pen this contribution about her beloved cat. Tracy is neither a blogger nor a regular commenter here — she’s just a friend whose arm could be twisted into writing down the above haiku. Hope you all enjoy it, especially the cat lovers out there, one of whom wrote another cat-centric piece that will debut later this week.
Check out all existing secondhand contributions by clicking here. If you want to join the fray by sending your own handwriting sample, read this little introduction to find out how.
jubilee
Speaking of mistakes, one of the things I’ve noticed about writing haiku on napkins (as I have with this one) is that the soft, less slick surface of a napkin actually makes it easier for me to not make mistakes. Perhaps it’s because I have a tendency to gather steam as I write, which leaves me prone to miscues. Which is probably also a part of the reason why I prefer fountain pen to roller ball.
All of which has nothing to do with the point of the haiku itself.
