order
it’s overrated,
but still appreciated,
in these hectic lives.
things yet to change
presuppositions,
inevitabilities,
life as we know it.
paternity
it would have taken
so much less effort to be
“dad” in name only.
self-consumed
self-consumed haiku
will make no observations
to enlighten you.
potential rain delay
dreary sky warning
of storms that didn’t arrive;
why’d I stay inside?
stepping back
causing you pain
was never the way
i meant this to play
wracking my brain
like high rises sway
bring doubt and dismay
wonder today
how futures will change
if plans fall away
i shoulder blame
if ever we wane
for i feel the same
verbal pretense
pulling words along,
just hoping they won’t notice,
I don’t have a clue.
unspoken thanks
for those who won’t see
the ripples from their kindness,
mindful gratitude.
contrarian #9
adherence to fate
spits in the face of free will
and leaves us blameless.
compulsion 31
why should we struggle
to quell recurring whims of
insecurity?
mental cavalry
running out of thoughts,
the fear of emptiness grips;
need reinforcements.
